HP Pavilion Aero 13 Lightweight Laptop With AMD Ryzen Processors Launched

When HP announced its new Pavilion Aero 13 laptop back in June, there was a lot to get excited over. With a $750 starting price (now $670 on sale), AMD Ryzen processors, a slick modern design, and weighing around just 2 pounds (0.9kg), this laptop brings a lot of premium features to the mid-range budget space.

The rule of thumb with HP’s consumer laptops is: Pavilions are cheap, Envys are midrange, Spectres are expensive. But the Pavilion Aero 13 is much nicer (and a bit more expensive) than your typical budget laptop, with plenty of features — like a 16:10 screen, a 10-hour battery life span, and a mind-blowingly light chassis — that are typically reserved for premium Windows devices.

Pavilion laptops in general are typically thicker and less powerful than the pricier Envy or Spectre options and so it's actually quite surprising to see HP announce such lofty performance and size targets for its new 13.3-inch Pavilion Aero 13. We suspect that a larger 15-inch Pavilion Aero 15 may be in the works should the Pavilion Aero 13 prove to be popular with users.
